Directions for Accessing a STAR Webcast
STAR Webcasts:
- Are open to everyone.
- Require no pre-registration with STAR TAC, although a free login account with the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) Web site is required.
- Are linked on the "Live Events" Web page of the SDCOE Webcast Portal.

Note: You must have RealPlayer 10 for Mac OS if you are using Mac Tiger OS (10.4.0 or later) and either the Safari 2.0 or Firefox 1.0 or later browser.
- Windows Media Player for the Mac—Not supported
- Go to the SDCOE Webcast Portal.
- Click on the Register Now link in the "Registration Instructions" section in the upper right corner of the "Webcast Portal" page.
- Starting with the Work Association Type pull-down list, select an organization type.
- Enter your data in the "New Account" Web form.
- Click the Create Account button.
- Visit the SDCOE Webcast Portal to complete the registration process; disregard the URL included in the registration confirmation e-mail you will receive.
Please test your system a few days before the Webcast by visiting the SDCOE Webcast test site. You will be required to login first. If you do not have an SDCOE login, enter the fields that appear on the Registration Form and follow the prompts.
If you cannot see anything in the Video Window on the left and the controls have been replaced by your browser's picture placeholders, you do not have the proper version of the Real media player. Go to the Real Web site and download an appropriate version of the RealPlayer, and try again.
Live Webcast
- See the "Recent Events" section of the SDCOE Webcast Portal on the day of the Webcast.
- Click the Launch Webcast link under the Webcast description.
- Enter your login information.
- Click the High link.
- View the Webcast.
Archived Webcast
- Open the SDCOE Webcast Portal.
- Click the Archived Webcasts link in the "Categories" section on the left side of the Portal page to see archived Webcasts listed in chronological order. If you know the topic of the archived Webcast, click the name of the topic listed under the Archived Webcasts link.
- Click the Launch Webcast link under the Webcast description.
- Enter your login information.
- Click the High link.
- View the archived Webcast.

If you experience technical problems accessing the Webcast, please call 800-200-3626 or 858-292-3626. Select option 5 to speak with a SDCOE technical support person. If all representatives are busy, please select option 7 to leave a voice mail; a technical support representative will respond to your call as soon as possible. In either case, provide the technical support representative with detailed information regarding the problem you are experiencing and the name of the archived Webcast you are attempting to access.

If you're logging in the day of the Webcast it could be that the Webcast session is "on" and broadcasting, but the Webcast itself hasn't begun. People should begin to appear at the Webcast's scheduled time. |

Your system may not be configured properly to receive the Webcast. Make sure that your version of RealPlyer has been updated. |

If you are logging in the day of the Webcast it could be that Webcast session isn't broadcasting yet. Log off, shut your browser, and try again in a few minutes. |
