All district STAR coordinators are encouraged to attend the workshops. See the STAR calendar for workshop dates.

Workshops are also offered as Webcasts. See the Webcast Instructions page for more information about connecting to live or archived STAR Webcasts.

STAR Webcasts are archived and available on the San Diego County Office of Education Webcast Portal. Select the Archived Webcasts link in the "Categories" box on the left side of the page, and then select the linked workshop name or the Launch Webcast icon under the name of the Webcast in the "Events" box on the right. Webcasts are listed in chronological order.

2009 Order Management Workshop

The STAR Order Management Workshops are designed to inform district STAR coordinators about navigating the Web-based STAR Management System to order STAR testing materials for spring 2009. The following topics are covered in the STAR Order Management Workshop:

• Changes in ordering procedures from last year (for experienced coordinators)
• Suggestions for determining correct order quantities and how to avoid "Excessive Materials" charges
• Demonstration of the Web-based STAR Management System online ordering process
• Ordering STS materials
• Ordering CMA materials
• Ordering EAP Essay materials
• Q&A

The STAR Order Management Workshops are open to district STAR coordinators only. Because of space limitations, no more than two persons per district may attend a workshop. Registrations received online will be given priority.

This workshop will be presented as a Webcast on Thursday, October 23, and on Wednesday, November 5 (no registration required). Some county offices of education will host the Webcast. Register for the Webcast hosting events as you would for one of the live workshops.

2009 Pre-ID Workshop

The purpose of the Pre-ID Workshop is to inform participants how to submit data to obtain STAR Pre-ID materials for students. The workshop provides information on the following topics:
